While surfing this morning on internet, I found this interesting design, The Barrel Lamp designed by the Dutch label Nieuwe Heren and inspired by WWII searchlights. Crafted from sturdy materials like wood, steel and concrete, revolvable around two axes. Product designed for 'New Duivendrecht'.

More about the designers
Nieuwe Heren, freely translated as ‘New Gents’ was founded June 2009 by Erik de Nijs and Tim Smit. Erik (1985) and Tim (1988) both graduated from the University of the Arts, Utrecht (Holland) in 2009. After some successful cooperations they decided that their comparable visions and ideas would make a great team for a fertile collaboration. Nieuwe Heren is specialised in multiple mediums, varying from product, furniture to graphic and fashion.
