Be inspired by this interesting, minimalistic lighting design, called 'Shield' from Kutarq Studio. Inspired by the shields of the Masai from Tanzania, consistent reduction, clear geometry and clean shapes are the design principles behind the 'Shield' luminaires. The lamp consists of two main parts: an opalescent diffuser (which is exchangeable and can be set up fast and easy) and a white-painted aluminum structural chassis. The shades are not opaque, but semi-translucent, creating an attractive aura and a pleasant atmosphere as a harmonious light falls upon the wall or ceiling. They are made in three different forms: round, oval and eye-shaped. The 'Shield' series are available as a wall, ceiling, pendant or floor lamp and are all dimmable.
I guess you have noticed already that I am a huge fan of the wonderful fashionphotos from Bianca Luini. Bianca is a fashion design graduate living in Milan, Italy. She sees fashion everywhereand everything in fashion. Love her beautiful and creative way of finding similarities in fashion combined with art, design, architecture, nature, photography etc. Below you find the similarities she found in these 2 photos. On the left you see Luping Wang photographed by Olivier Yoan and styled by Anson Lau for South China Morning Post. On the right: Flying Blue by Sarah Olson, 2004. Beautiful, isn't it? I wrote more blogs about her inspiring work, see MORE BLOGS
