BEDROOMS: a dreamy canopy bed by interior designer Jackye Lanham

A fabulously subdued color palette deserves a dreamy canopy bed. Love this elegant and dreamy canopy bed by interior designer Jackye Lanham. She chose an iron canopy bed to balance the soft elegance of the space. What a beauty! I wrote earlier more blogs about canopy beds: blog 1blog 2blog 3 and blog 4.

Fashion: Otherworldly - Haute Papier by Bea Szenfeld (02)

Amazing paper collection entitled 'Haute Papier' by fashion designer Bea Szenfeld. It's a design found in the interesting fashionbook Otherworldly. Challenging traditional ideas of reality vs. fantasy, ‘Otherworldly’ offers a glimpse at the fearless creations of some of the fashion industry’s most forward-thinking designers. Published by Gestalten and edited by media artist Theo-Mass Lexileictous, this 305-page book is packed with striking images of avant-garde costumes that defy normality and introduce a new world where nothing is pre-determined and everything is encouraged. See also my first blog of Bea Szenfeld 01

Salone del Mobile 2016: Lighting collection 'Optical' by Lee Broom

A few pieces caught my eye this week, like this interesting lighting range called 'Optical' by Lee Broom. The new lighting range was showcased at Milan Design Week 2016 in a unique travelling show staged inside Broom’s industrial delivery van. Lee designed the interior of his studio’s delivery van to look like a traditional Italian palazzo and then installed the black & white light for an overall dramatic effect. The van was then driven from Broom’s London headquarters all the way to Milan for Salone del Mobile to be shown in various spots around the city including Brera Design District, Spazio Rossana Orlandi, ZonaTortona, San Gregorio Docet, Ventura Lambrate and more. The idea’s name? Salone del Automobile. Pretty genius. When viewed from all sides, Optical’s linear pattern changes at every angle. The Optical lighting range will be available in September 2016.
