Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, has died

Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul has died today. The world lost an incredibly talented woman and icon. She was 76. We all grew up listening to Aretha Franklin. Her songs pouring from speakers on hot summer nights - at barbecues, on rooftops, pulsing from the windows of passing cars. Our parents did, too. Franklin’s music has only increased in its scope over two generations, which is part of why news of her death holds so much sorrow, but it’s not the only reason. Franklin was’t just a musical luminary - she was a legend. She will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace, Aretha. Your legacy and music will forever inspire us and future generations. ♥♥♥

Art: Colorful artwork by French illustrator Malika Favre (05)

While surfing this morning on internet I saw this colorful popart work from the French graphic designer Malika Favre. Love her graphic work! Malika Favre's distinct and often very sexy style has made her one of the world's most sought-after commercial illustrators. In addition to her personal creations, she works for clients around the world. Publications such as the New Yorker and Vogue, as well as international brands like Sephora with whom she has a growing, fruitful relationship. In her London studio, Favre creates work that is characterized by a striking minimalism: no line, no shape, no color is wasted. But within this minimalism, she creates images of startling beauty and depth. I will write more blogs about her interesting work. Be Inspired .......

Art: Japanese beauty in Art Déco style by artist Ichiro Tsuruta (03)

While surfing this afternoon on internet I found these beautiful, elegant and colorful paintings from the Japanese visual artist Ichiro Tsuruta. I am really impressed about the beauty he is showing in his work. I wrote MORE BLOGS about his work. Be Inspired by his interesting artwork.

More about the artist
Ichiro Tsuruta is a Japanese artist born in 1954 in the city of Hondo-shi (current Amakusa-shi), Kumamoto, Japan. He grew up surrounded by rich nature of the Kyushu's Amakusa region. He liked to paint since he was a young boy. He graduated from the department of Graphic Design at Tama Art College and worked on Western style and realistic style illustrations. He then became interested in the concept of beauty in Japanese tradition and Buddhist art. Ichiro's paintings are influenced by ‘Ukiyo-e’ the ancient Japanese paintings of young women such as ‘Utamaro’ and ‘Hokusai’. In fact the Japanese women he has created are the result of the perfect union of European Art Deco and Japanese sensibility. From the inner sense of Ichiro’s beauty are born his illustrations of women or muses, as he calls them. Here beauty, elegance and eroticism meet and interweave. Since 1987 Noevir, cosmetics company of Japan had adopted Tsuruta’s painting of imaginary beauties for their campaign for eleven years. Now he is working mainly as the painter of “Bijinga”, “Butsuga” (Buddhist art) and so on.
