Design: Nocturne, a stunning special edition of LS50 Wireless by Marcel Wanders

Designed to Stir the Soul Before the Music Begins
KEF has collaborated with Dutch designer Marcel Wanders to launch a music-orientated version of its superb speaker system. ‘Nocturne’ is a stunning special edition of LS50 Wireless. The inherently circular nature of KEF’s Uni-Q driver and musical notation symbols subtly blend with unique architectural and rhythmic elements to create a sophisticated design.
"There is an orchestrated tempo to this medley. By allowing for individual discovery of the musical elements, the design possesses a distinctive rhythm all of its own" says Wanders. Be Inspired ......

Art: Inspiring artwork from artist Markus Nass, Part 02

While surfing on internet today I saw this beautiful and expressive artwork from the German artist Markus NassLove his bright and fresh coloruse. Take a look below at these paintings. Aren't they beautiful to see? Markus is using here epoxy resin combined with pigment and acrylglas. I am really touched by his inspiring artwork. Below you will find more information about his background. Earlier I wrote another blog, called PART 01Be Inspired.

More about the artist
Markus Nass (German, b.1979)
Markus Nass, a recent graduate from the Staatliche Akademie der Bildendende Künste Karlsruhe, has developed a highly individual painterly style. Choosing to work with synthetic materials, Nass adds pigment to epoxy resin, which he then pours onto an acrylic surface. The clear, jewel-like colours are carefully chosen for the ways in which, combined and intermingled, they produce harmonies and dissonances, surface and depth, light and dark. Nass plans a basic structure for each work at the beginning of the production process but a central aspect of his approach is to allow the different colours to flow together, creating myriad layers. The resulting forms suggest birds-eye views of landscapes, cell structures or underwater realms. However, the transparent glow and otherworldly character of Nass' work ensures that the intimations of reality are always balanced with purely abstract elements. Ultimately, Nass' work is a self-reflective investigation of colour, light and form, the very fundamentals of art. Written by Felicity Lunn (curator, UBS-Art-Collection)

Furniture Design: Orange Commode "Losange" by Aymeric Lefort

While surfing on internet this afternoon I found this colorful orange commode "Losange" by French designer Aymeric Lefort (France 2004). Isn't it a beauty? Be Inspired ........
More about the designer, Aymeric Lefort
Lefort's decision to become a designer was inspired by the furniture of Jean Royère in his family home in France. After finishing his studies in cabinet making at the renowned Institute de St Luc in Tournai, where he specialized in design, he went on to complete his training in the workshops of cabinet makers, interior decorators and upholsterers in Brussels where he was motivated by his desire to learn new techniques in the decorative arts.

These apprenticeships gave him a thorough grounding and an enviable technical knowledge in the art of cabinetmaking. This, combined with his commitment to the highest levels of craftsmanship which Lefort brings to his contemporary designs, continues a long tradition of French cabinetry.

Each collection Lefort produces contains his cultural heritage reinterpreted for the modern form to create a minimal, yet often sensual design. Inspired by architecture and with the rigorous techniques of the cabinet maker, Leforts pieces are characterized by the subtle blending of their elements, the quality of the finish and the combinations of materials.

Fragrances: Dita von Teese makes her fragrance debut

Dita von Teese Fragrances
Dita von Teese is an US-American representative of the new burlesque. She stands in the limelight as a cover girl, model and actress. At the age of 12 she moved to Orange County with her parents and her sister, where she started to develop her fascination for different styles. Consequently it was only logical for her to study historic costuming. We can now admire her own fashion creations and it was therefore the obvious next step for her to launch her own fragrance creation - the perfume “Dita von Teese”.

Dita von Teese - the goddess of femininity. Dita embodies everything that the modern woman of today wants to be: glamour, elegance and self-assured sensuality. Her first fragrance creation lives up to its name - Dita von Teese - pure womanliness, beauty and femme total. The black flaçon is reminiscent of her shapely female curves and becomes more slender towards the bottom. She maintains a retro look: the flaçon is created in a retro design, just like the fragrance. Her appearance and her fragrance cast a spell on men and make them fall on the their knees.
