Although as a child Ton drew a lot, molded and did other forms of creativity, it took many years before he decided to become a painter artist. From one day to another, he knocked over the helm and has followed his heart. Beautiful collection. Overall takeaway: Downton Abbey in the house.
Downton's themesong opened the show, clueing us in on what to expect. Lauren paid tribute not only to the lovely ladies of the manor, but to the men. Edwardian-inspired menswear looks in herringbones and flannels with fair isle sweaters, complete with newsboy caps, gave way to elegant evening smoking jackets and top hats. With walking sticks, so utterly chic
The dresses were exquisite: velvet, beaded, silk, lamé - looks you'd see at dinner with the Dowager Countess. A feather cape was gorgeous, a metallic beaded blouse was spot on. And while there were quite a few looks you could envision the characters wearing, the collection didn't feel costume. Lauren paired a gold lamé gown with a biker jacket, for example.
Another major high point of the collection were the accessories. The bags - doctor bags in alligator, sumptuous leather satchels with gold chains - were riveting. The shoes were platform, high and sexy.

Lovely cushions & plaids in a romantic way,
available at Maisons du Monde (series textiles Bovary).

Dutch Artist: Judy Bakker
Below you will find abstract art from the Dutch artist Judy Bakker. Her work is autodidact. Judy paints very intuitive. Her use of color is mostly moderated, sometimes varicolored. Her style is abstract, geometrical / abstract expressionism. She shows her work at her home gallery. Visitors can get a good impression how the painting will fit in a homely environment. Judy sees painting as a challenge, a discovery and sometimes even as a struggle. For more information please have a look at the enclosed links below.

Of zij daarin slaagt? Bepaal het zelf en kom kijken. My Home Gallery is te vinden in Bergen (NH).
