Highlights of Dior's Fall/Winter 2021 Menswear

Highlights of Dior's Fall/Winter 2021 Menswear. For his Winter 2021-2022 collection for the House of Dior, men’s artistic director Kim Jones draws inspiration from the masculine extravagance of ceremonial garb – a living link with the past, still dynamic and alive today. Like haute couture, it connects the now with then: a window into history and heritage. Alongside heritage, the contemporary: with this collection, Kim Jones and Dior debut a collaboration with the Scottish-born, Trinidad-based artist Peter Doig. Be Inspired .......

Furniture design: Tropical plants frozen in resin by Marcin Rusak

Today I spotted this beautiful furniture collection 'Flora Noir' by London-based designer Marcin Rusak. It's a series of resin furniture patterned with leaves and flowers trapped in the surfaces. These pieces are on show at Twenty First Gallery in New York's Chelsea. The exhibition debuts a console, a coffee table, a sculpture and a wall lamp. Flora Noir opened on 12 May 2017 and remains on view until 16 June 2017. The designer runs a studio in the UK capital. All of furniture pieces are produced in the Netherlands. What an inspiring and creative collection!

More about the designer
Marcin Rusak situates his work at the intersection of value, ephemerality and aesthetics. He studies contemporary patterns of consumption, industry methods of manipulation, and the complicated systems we support. In his pursuit of authenticity, Marcin creates work that asks questions, references history and proposes possible future scenarios. Utilizing the power of materials, volume and form he moves fluidly from decorative art objects to sculptures, two dimensional work and back again each time with a story as his guide.
Marcin has a background in both humanities (BA from European Studies from University of Warsaw) and art programmes such as Man and Living at the conceptual Eindhoven Design Academy, Netherlands as well as receiving an MA in Design Products from London’s Royal College of Arts. Recently Marcin has been awarded the Perrier-JouĂ«t Arts Salon Prize for emerging artists. He has exhibited at group shows including “What is Luxury?” at the V&A, Design Miami/Basel, London, Milan and Dubai design fairs. Recently he had his first solo show at the Contemporary Applied Arts gallery in London.

MFW: FENDI F/W 2021 MENSWEAR

Get Inspired by the highlights of Fendi's Fall/Winter 2021 Menswear, seen at Milan Fashion Week. The collection showed a kaleidoscope of colours and a sense of comfort and home in troubled times. From ribbed cable knit long johns, cardigan scarves, mitten cuffs to pyjama-inspired outerwear such as a floral belted duvet coat with wide lapels, pyjama piping on trench coats and pullovers, the ensembles formed the symbols of multi-functionality, utility and undeniable leisure.
