Marcel Wanders shows his iconic pieces to the Middle East (DDD 2016).
For the first time, Marcel Wanders (Amsterdam based, 1963) will be showcasing his Personal Editions collection at Design Days Dubai 2016 (5th edition from 14-18 March, 2016). Already familiar with the area, the designer has completed several luxury interior design projects in the region, including the soon to open Mondrian Doha. At the Design Days Dubai gallery, Marcel Wanders Studio will exhibit Marcel Wanders’ collectible design made to express creativity in a tactile, craftsman-like fashion.

“With this collection, in this region specifically, I wanted to include work that celebrates humankind and highlights durability, warmth and imperfection. Handcrafted techniques and a sense of ornamentation dominate this collection and offer more surprise for both myself and those who experience it,” said Marcel Wanders.

The Personal Editions collection is an exclusive collection of limited edition pieces that exist at the boundaries of the functional and the non-functional and of art and design. These selected pieces are a playground, a place without restrictions, where Marcel Wanders brings his most unexpected visions to life. The collection combines traditional crafts and industrial processes to offer durability, fantasy and creativity to humanity.
