An unconventional design, using an ancient technique, to create an authentically bold base for this transformational shade.

The oak base of this majestic lamp is handmade using the Japanese art of Shousugiban, an ancient technique used to burn wood giving it a unique texture. Maintaining the integrity of the wood requires absolute precision and skill. There is no room for error. Once cooled the base is brushed to remove any residue. The base is then polished with wax and oil to enhance the dramatic character of the dark burned oak – revealing its beautiful texture.

The Treepod Radical shade has a robust and unpolished appearance which complements the striking base. Precision cut in house, from stainless steel, each segment fits together perfectly. It has clean, dramatic lines for adding drama, light and shade to any space.
