Interior Design: Luis Puerta - Inspiring Spanish Interior Designer

Love the decorating work from this fantastic interior designer, Luis Puerta. Luis Puerta is an interior designer from Madrid, Spain. He has a fantastic feeling for style, elegance and harmony. He seeks to create spaces that are serene, elegant and timeless. He seems very much influenced by French design and uses mirrors in his spaces quite often. Take note because his mirror applications are pretty spectacular - such a great way to make a space appear much larger than it is. Be inspired by this talented interior designer ........

More about the designer
Zuhair Murad  is a Beirut-based Lebanese fashion designer. He is considered to be one of the most talented designers of the 21st century. Zuhair Murad was born and raised in Baalbek, Lebanon in 1971. His passion for fashion was visible from an early age. When he was 14, Zuhair won a TV contest with three outfits which defined his personal and particular style. That childhood passion led him to study at a design school in Paris and in 1997 he opened his very first atelier in Beirut. In 1999, Murad celebrated his international debut at the Alta Roma Fashion Week, following an invitation from the Camera Nazionale della Moda and three years later he presented his couture collection for the 1st time during Haute Couture Week in Paris.

Chosen by L’agenzia per la Moda to appear at the official opening of the 2001 festival in Rome, Murad quickly became known as one of the best designers in Italy. This was the beginning of a new era for him. In 2005, he debuted the first Zuhair Murad RTW collection, a more simple – yet still aesthetically glamorous – contemporary line designed to meet the expanding needs of his clients. Two years later inaugurates his Parisian “Maison de Couture” in the heart of the Triangle d’Or on “François 1er” Street.

The international media has declared him as ‘the star rocketing designer’ and ‘one of the most promising young designers for the new era’ due to his unique style and creativity which ensure his ongoing successful career.

Since 2009 an enormous amount of celebrities likes to shine at important events with his unique pieces. His ability to turn every woman who wears his amazing pieces into a goddess make some believe that he stole Cinderella’s fairy grandmother’s stick and everything he designed was created with pure magic. His unique creations that define oriental essence and beauty have made their way towards all the major podiums, boutiques and personalities.

What initially began as a young boy’s hobby with little sketches and pictures painted on paper and canvas has now grown into a fashion empire with strong regional recognition and a growing global reputation.

‘I started from scratch and worked my way up’, says Murad who’s adventurous and aspiring nature have lead him to where he is today. Zuhair Murad is the perfect example of how ambition, perseverance and creativity can lead to an eclectic runway of life.

‘It’s about sensuality and femininity, along with a touch of glamour.’

Art: Ton Schulten - Dutch painter of Consensusism

Several years ago, during holiday time, I stayed in the place Ootmarsum in the Netherlands and spent quite some hours by looking at the colourful paintings of the Dutch artist Ton Schulten and the beautiful art they have.
I can absolutely recommend you to visit this lovely Dutch village with interesting art. Below you will find more information about the painter as well as his paintings. I also wrote a another blog about guest exhibitors from the Galerie Ton Schulten. This blogpost is a repost of my blog from 24-03-2021. Be Inspired by this interesting artist .......

Passion and enchantment: the world according to Ton Schulten.
Ton Schulten, a painter from Ootmarsum in the Netherlands, has been creating his distinctive and colourful landscape mosaics since the early 1990’s. In his work you will find the zest for life and optimism.
More about Ton Schulten: a painter of consensusism
In the early nineties, Ton Schulten (born 1938) decided to start concentrating on his painting. This decision marked the end of a successful career as an advertising agent. He exchanged his hectic life as a director/owner of an advertising agency in Ootmarsum, for a life of dreaming away the days in colour and form, and recording these dreams on canvas with a merciless rhythm - as if he was making up for lost time. Ton Schulten had enough of 'playing the manager', as he calls it himself. He felt he had become alienated from the creative process that is inherent in creating advertising campaigns. In painting, he rediscovered what he had 'lost' in the advertising world. Very soon he emerged as a true colourist: he started, as it were, living with colour. He allowed the colours to direct him, even decide what he did on the canvas, and he always said that 'it was a joy to paint'. This is how Ton Schulten regained his artistic freedom and became a painter.

The work of Ton Schulten cannot really be described in one word. It has expressionist overtones, yet is in a class of its own. This is what Ton Schulten intended right from the start: he wanted to paint in a style that had not been seen before. He builds up his compositions using broad, vertical bands of colour. Like a child playing with building bricks, the artist Ton Schulten systematically builds his mystical mosaic landscapes which, admittedly, only exist in his mind, but are always inspired by the repoussoir landscape of Twente. To him, red is the colour of warmth; green is about nature and its wonderful scents. Yellow and orange stand for joyfulness - the sun! Ton Schulten says: 'I let things happen, things that are impossible but have a fascinating effect. This makes for an ongoing new, creative process'.
Ton Schulten has now become one of the most successful artists of our time. He is best known for his mosaic landscapes. The colourful canvases were inspired by the repoussoir Twente landscape with its distinctive lateral moraines, its 'essen' - rolling raised stretches of agricultural land - and its solitary trees and clusters of shrubs.
His work, consisting of canvases, screen prints and reproductions, can be seen at 'Chez Moi Ton Schulten Galerie International' and in the Museum Ton Schulten, both in Ootmarsum. For more information please have a look at their website, see enclosed hyperlink.

Interior: The Beauty & Simplicity of Japanese Interior Design

Love the beauty & simplicity of Japanese interior design combined with wood & water elements and traditional Japanese plants such as bamboo and bonsai. The incorporation of unique aesthetics borrowed from Taoism makes Japanese interior design beautiful, simple and modest. There are several ways that you can incorporate these styles in your home to achieve their level of harmony brought by them. This blogpost is from 08-01-2015 and will be republished today. Be Inspired ........
Saturating some of the unique aspect of nature into the interior design of your home is one of the main pillars of the Japanese culture. In this way they are showing respect to the world they live in. You can add traditional Japanese plants such as bamboo and bonsai or use other plants as long as you keep them light and lovely. The presence of life and the green environment will give your home Japanese feel. Another aspect of Japanese interior design involves the use of large and expansive windows to bring out the beauty of nature inside the house.
Japanese interior design also appreciates the serene sound of bubbling water. You can incorporate this type of setting in your house by having soaking tabs installed. To give it a more Japanese look, try having the tabs small, deep and made with a side bench.

Japanese interior designs use wood elements and bamboo as a way of trying to harmonize nature into their homes. By using wooden flooring, doors and frames can (like bamboo), you will get that Japanese feel.

In the entry of your house, you can have a Japanese style entryway where it will serve as a place to receive visitors. You can place a shelf where your guests can store their shoes. Don't forget the indoor slippers they can put on. To enhance the Japanese style, you can have a stone tile flooring in the entry way.
