It's the office cabinet by Product- and Interior Designer Nika Zupanc, seen at Milan Design Week 2013. The used material here is wood / piano black finish and metal details. Nika Zupanc’s works bring inspiring reports from the outer frontiers of technologies, materials and possibilities. Her product design collaborations include distinguished design companies such as Moooi, Se and Dior. Nika Zupanc creates limited edition collections for Rossana Orlandi, while continuing to design and produce her own brand. Since emerging at the Milan Design Week she has been closely watched by the industry and the press, describing her work as everything from “punk elegance” (Elle USA) and “techno chic” (BusinessWeek) to “larger than life” (Clear magazine) and Zupanc as “the real star” (The Wall Street Journal).

MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2013: Tofu armchair by Leonardo Talarico

Easychair made of Tofu by Leonardo Talarico.
TOFU is the provocative armchair by Leonardo Talarico.  As its name suggests, this piece of furniture is entirely made out of Tofu, one of the most nutrient, soft and ancient aliment. Through a dehydration process and subsequent thermal shock, tofu gains important mechanical properties and it can be used as a structural material. The armchair is treated with a natural colour that is able to change shades of colour based on the acidity of the material.

About the designer:
Leonardo Talarico (Milano,1988) is a young Italian designer, who is collaborating with some of the most prestigious firms in the design world such as Cappellini, Mercedes Benz, Alcantara, Ceramica Flamina, Henry Timi and various others. Rcs group has recently included him among 15 Italian talents under the age of 35.
