LIGHTING: Heracleum the Big O by Bertjan Pot

Beautiful design! The Heracleum lamp by Bertjan Pot & Marcel Wanders is a force of nature. Just like the plant that inspired it, the lamp is expanding, transforming and growing new leaves to crown this exciting new design season.
About the designer
Bertjan Pot is a designer, probably best known for his Random Light (1999). The light started as a material experiment, which is basically the start of each product created by Studio Bertjan Pot. The outcome is usually an interior product showing a fascination for techniques, structures, patterns and colors. Most experiments start quite impulsively by a certain curiosity for how things would function or how something would look. From there Bertjan takes on challenges with manufacturers to explore possibilities and push the boundaries a bit. The reward for each challenge is a new one. Studio Bertjan Pot works with manufacturers such as Arco, Established & Sons, Feld, Gelderland, Montis, Moooi and Richard Lampert.

RUNWAY: JUNYA WATANABE FALL 2013 RTW

Why is it that Junya Watanabe's name isn’t continually lauded to the rafters as one of the Greats of fashion? His collection today proved it yet again - that he’s a unique master of cool-casual. A maker who fuses his impeccable signature cutting with familiar street-generic clothes everyone loves. He is a designer whose reality-dressing never comes without a touch of romance.

OUTDOOR FURNITURE: Poltronas Outdoor Furniture

Interesting outdoor furniture from Poltrona, named the Poltronas Showtime Outdoor Furniture, a collection designed by Spanish designer Jaime Hayon (2006). Description: armchair, sofa and cover in rotomoulded polyethylene and mass pigmented. For more information please have a look at the enclosed link below.
About the designer:
Jaime Hayon is the most intriguing figure in new Spanish design. He has energy, talent and a style of his own, which are all distilled into the Showtime collection he has designed for Bd Barcelona design. This happy encounter between a young designer and a veteran producer has led to the birth of a furniture collection meant for the home, but which has the adaptability and the personality needed for contract furnishing. A collection in which plastics consort with upholstery, the gleam of lacquered wood and the tradition of fine ceramics in contrasts between classicism and modernity.

LIGHTING DESIGN: Stunning Recycled Bicycle Chandelier

Recycled Bicycle Chandeliers by artist Carolina Fontoura Alzaga.
CONNECT is a series of chandeliers inspired by DIY and Bike punk culture combined with aesthetics rooted in the Victorian era created by LA based artist Carolina Fontoura Alzaga. Her handmade bespoke pieces evoke a strong industrial look and invite the viewer to examine them up-close in order to come to grips with their fine details and the technical precision needed to put them together.
Carolina managed to master the challenges faced by resilient materials such as bicycle chains and cassettes and created a stunning collection which also addresses universal themes around sustainability and the environment. She admits to having a strong connection with urban bicycle culture and hopes to inspire audiences to question their ideas on what is beautiful and functional.
