Furniture Design: Miss Dior, the Dior Medallion Chair by Philippe Starck

While surfing today on internet I found this beautiful chair. It's called Miss Dior, the Dior Medallion Chair imagined by industrial architect Philippe Starck. What a timeless elegance. 100% aluminium and rose cupper, made in Italy. I hope you're inspired!

MISS DIOR, THE DIOR MEDALLION CHAIR IMAGINED BY PHILIPPE STARCK

“Some have searched all their lives for the little black dress, I have always dreamed of the perfect little chair. This icon of perfection clearly exists in our collective unconscious, in the form of the Louis XVI Medallion chair and its magic oval, which is one of the symbols of the House of Dior. Everything has always brought me back to this chair.”
Philippe Starck

More about the interior designer:
Philippe Starck is a French industrial architect and designer known for his wide range of designs including interior design, architecture, household objects, furniture, boats and other vehicles.

On the occasion of the Salone del Mobile 2022 in Milan, Dior Maison joined forces with Philippe Starck for the first time and invited him to reinterpret the Medallion chair. A symbol of the Louis XVI style, dear to Christian Dior.

The internationally renowned creator, famous for his visionary and poetic works, combines the fundamentals of the House with a savoir-faire pushing back the limits of excellence. For Dior, he dreamed up a version called Miss Dior, a tribute to a certain kind of femininity imbued with bold elegance. Driven by a “passion du minimum”, he has refined the structure of the famous seat to the extreme, seeking the absolute purity of its silhouette, emphasized even more by the lightness of aluminum, of which Philippe Starck values the nobility and durability, as well as its precious simplicity.

Runway: Dior Cruise 2027: Old Hollywood Fantasy

The Dior Cruise 2027 show in Los Angeles was a grand event, celebrating the brand's deep connection with Hollywood and the vibrant culture of Los Angeles. The show was presented in the David Geffen Galleries, where the setting was inspired by the city's iconic landmarks and the Californian landscape. The collection, inspired by Hollywood noir and the natural beauty of California, featured a series of dresses with a low waistline and rose embellishments, as well as a Bar jacket with distressed details. The show was a testament to the enduring legacy of Dior's collaboration with Hollywood, with references to past icons like Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor. The collection's design was a blend of glamour and natural elements, creating a unique and memorable experience for attendees. The fashion designer was Jonathan Anderson. Be Inspired .........

"Dior’s rich history in Hollywood was a starting point for this collection, which came to life like a field of Californian poppies in late Spring."

Balancing Heritage & Modernity at the fashionshow of Christian Dior S/S 2024 Haute Couture

Maria Grazia Chiuri channels 1950s Dior for Christian Dior S/S 2024 Haute Couture, reimagining iconic silhouettes with moire's luxurious sway. Gowns, coats, and pants take on a timeless yet modern allure.
The collection is a masterclass in balancing heritage and modernity. A beige coat with a gold-thread tapestry motif reflects Dior‘s love of 18th-century detail, while graphic black embroidery on an ivory skirt adds a dose of contemporary edge. Clean lines and architectural cuts coexist with delicate fabrics and ornate embellishments, creating a dialogue between eras that feels both harmonious and exciting. RUNWAY: DIOR IS EXPLORING JAPAN (03)

Would like to share with you today this stunning design from the Christian Dior fashionshow for S/S 2007 Haute Couture, designed by fashion designer John Galliano. After a decade at Dior, John Galliano proved he could still make you speechless with delight and at this point. The first girl revolved onto the runway - konichiwa! The trip to the Land of the Rising Sun had begun. Galliano's research trip to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, taking him not to the high rise and the high tech, but back to the tea houses and to the company of the graceful geisha. He mixed his designs with Dior's new look and made you think of Grace Kelly, as she stepped off the plane on her tour to Tokyo her ensemble drawing gasps. Today the geisha of the East met the geisha of the West.
