Recognizable by its handmade beveled door. Minimal design, but full of charm. The tops seem to be floating and light while still using massive materials like cement mousse or the most precious natural stones. Thickness is important but processed in order to minimize the perception. Wind best reflects the Toncelli style: rich but discreet.

Love to share with you this fantastic Archetipo island design created by the Italian company L’Ottocento in collaboration with makethatstudio. What a beautiful and elegant design! It owes its character to the shape of the doors, to the colour matching and to the two cylindric steel feet which lighten and support the structure while combining with the diameter of the tap. In love also with the warm and inviting flooring and the soft green walls.

While surfing on internet I found this beautiful kitchen in grey tones. It's a renovation of a delightful modernised Queen Anne Victorian house in San Francisco. Terwijl ik aan het googlen was op internet kwam ik via de website van HOOG.design deze prachtige, stijlvolle keuken tegen, ontworpen door Culimaat in samenwerking met architect Jos van Zijl. Wat een prachtige design keuken is! Ik neem u graag mee ........ zie de onderstaande foto's voor een impressie.
In een groene gemeente met een rijke cultuurhistorie vonden de bewoners van deze mooie woning hun nieuwe thuis. De bestaande bungalow werd in samenwerking met architect Jos van Zijl grootschalig gerenoveerd en omgetoverd tot een prachtige woning met een frisse, moderne aanblik. Aan de buitenzijde resulteerde dit onder meer in een volledig nieuwe gevel en de integratie van diverse raampartijen. Ook het interieur ging op de schop. Binnen de bestaande structuur bedacht Jos een nieuwe indeling die vanaf het moment van binnentreden verrast. Op de begane grond vormt een multifunctionele kern de verbindende factor. Achter het monolithische uiterlijk gaan inventieve en unieke vondsten schuil.
Zo is de sublieme open keuken gesitueerd aan de achterzijde van de woning met uitkijk op de groene tuin. In samenwerking met ons werd deze ruimte ondergedompeld in een heerlijke woonsfeer, waarbij het samenspel van diverse hoogwaardige materialen een harmonieus en rustig beeld creëert. Dit project is een bijzondere samensmelting van visies en expertises dat toont hoe er door out-of-the box te denken binnen bestaande kaders een geheel nieuwe en verrassende woning tot stand is gekomen.
Het onmogelijke mogelijk maken
Aan de achterzijde doet het element van Smoaked Oak dienst als kastenwand van de luxe leefkeuken. In deze wand zijn hoogwaardige apparatuur, een koffiebar en een drankenkabinet geïntegreerd. Daarvoor is een eiland gepositioneerd met een marmeren werkblad waarvan de aders doorlopen in de kopse kanten. De rijke uitstraling van het materiaal harmoniseert op mooie wijze met het stoere liquid-metal dat is toegepast op de fronten van de kasten. De ton-sur-ton kleurstelling geeft de keuken een natuurlijk ogende en rustige uitstraling.
De door Jos bedachte opstelling van zowel de leefkeuken als de bijkeuken werd door ons gefinetuned en vertaald in een high-end realisatie. Jos: ‘’We werken al jarenlang samen. Er is een heel fijne klik tussen Culimaat en mij. We durven allebei buiten de gebaande paden te denken en gaan geen enkele uitdaging uit de weg. Hierdoor ontstaan regelmatig unieke en vernieuwende dingen, zoals de schuifdeuren in de kastenwand – inmiddels een herkenbaar onderdeel van de Culimaat-signatuur.’’ Twan vult aan: ‘’Jos is een meester in het verdelen van ruimtes en in het bedenken van technische oplossingen. Hij werkt net als wij met hoogwaardige en exclusieve materialen en streeft altijd naar perfectie. Samen maken we het onmogelijke mogelijk.’’
