PHOTOSHOOT AT A DUTCH FARMHOUSE

Earlier, together with the Dutch photographer John Hunt (Amstel Imaging B.V.), we did do a photoshoot at a farmhouse in Holland. Our model is farmer Tom.

Eerder ben ik bezig geweest met een fotoshoot, waarbij een persoon voor 1 dag model is. Samen met fotograaf John Hunt (Amstel Imaging B.V.) zijn we hiermee aan de slag gegaan. We hebben vier fotoshoots gedaan op respectievelijk een boerderij in Noord-Holland / beeldentuin Nic Jonk, in het Vondelpark te Amsterdam en in een appartement in Amsterdam.

Boer Tom:

Boer Tom is het eerste model. Tom is al jaren veeboer, bezit een mooie boerderij in Noord-Holland waar hij dagelijks zijn koeien, schapen en kippen verzorgt. Af en toe vindt hij het leuk om in the picture te staan en even geen overall aan te hebben. Zie hier het resultaat: buiten op zijn erf met zijn trouwe hond aan zijn voeten én in zijn gezellige boeren woonkeuken. 

Op de lange termijn lijkt het me leuk om fotoshoots te doen met chique avondkleding in combinatie met professionele haar en visagie. In deze fotoshoot heeft boer Tom zelf zijn haar en kleding verzorgd.

Interiorstyling: Pine Design Wonen - houten tafels en dressoirs

 Stoere houten tafels en dressoirs gezien bij Pine Design Wonen, Zuidlaren (NL). Leuke woonwinkel met diverse woonstijlen en woonaccessoires. De blauwe zithoek (zie foto hierboven) én de stevige witte eettafel met blauwe stoelen erom heen vind ik ook erg mooi om te zien. De combinatie blauw met wit geeft de woonkamer een hele frisse uitstraling.

TIMELESS OPULENCE

A few pieces caught my eye this week like these beautiful handmade crystal chandeliers from the Irish company Noel Finan Waterford. The chandeliers look so elegant and sophisticated. I love it! For more information just have a look at their website, see enclosed hyperlink.

FURNITURE DESIGN: INDUSTRIAL LOOK (1)

Today, while surfing on internet, I found these inspiring furniture designs in industrial look, seen at Maisons du Monde. Would like to share these photos with you as inspiration source. On their website you can find much more nice designs in all kind of styles. A very versatile company! Get Inspired ...... I wrote MORE BLOGS about Industrial Design. 

Ik ben helemaal weg van de industriële look bij woonwinkel Maisons du Monde. Prachtige meubelen om te zien. Zij importeren allerlei soorten meubelen uit de gehele wereld, zoals exotische houtsoorten (teak en shorea), maar ook Indische palissander, Chinese lak, een Tibetaanse koffer, Indonesische acajou, geboende den zoals bij Engelse brocante. Het is met recht een ontdekkingsreis tussen al dat moois. Een leuke en veelzijdige woonwinkel. Ik kan je deze winkel van harte aanbevelen en wens je veel inspiratie toe.

The yummiest tent on the campsite!

Mmm ..… strawberries. Nothing says summer like these red lovelies. In this case a great big pile of them with a splash of cream. You'll have the yummiest tent on the campsite. However, we cannot accept responsibility for others licking your tent. Funny tents available at FieldCandy.

FieldCandy tents are fun. But they’re serious too. They keep you as dry in the rain and as snug in a gale as any conventional high performance tent. They used good old-fashioned cotton, so you don’t get the condensation that comes as standard with most modern tents. Below you will find another nice design: a tent like a melon.

ART: Dutch artist Nic Jonk - colourful paintings (2)

I really love the work of the Dutch sculptor/painter Nic Jonk. His works consist of bronze sculptures, paintings, glass objects, ceramics etc. Yesterday I published a blog about his beautiful bronze sculptures = Blog-Bronze Sculptures Nic Jonk. Today I will show you some examples of his bright and colourful paintings as well as his glass objects.

Zoals beloofd zou ik nog een tweede blog wijden aan Nic Jonk zijn schilderijen, zeefdrukken en glasobjecten. In mijn vorige blog liet ik diverse foto's zien van zijn prachtige bronzen sculpturen, zie hiervoor Blog-Bronze Sculptures Nic Jonk. Zijn schilderijen zijn echter ook zeer de moeite waard om onder de aandacht te brengen. Neemt u vooral een kijkje hieronder of zie voor meer informatie hun website. Hier treft u een uitgebreid oeuvre aan van Nic Jonk. Ik kan u een bezoek aan het museum en de beeldentuin van harte aanbevelen.

Ter informatie:
Beeldhouwer/schilder Nic Jonk (1928-1994) staat bekend om zijn plastische beeldhouwwerken met rondingen, die in brons zijn gegoten. Hij behoort met Auke de Vries en Arthur Sproncken tot de belangrijkste vertegenwoordigers van de naoorlogse Nederlandse beeldhouwkunst. Nic Jonk heeft met behulp van zijn vrouw Greet en zes kinderen geleidelijk zijn museum en beeldentuin gecreëerd. Het oeuvre van Nic Jonk bestaat uit schilderijen, grafiek, keramiek, glasobjecten en sieraden. Verrassend te zien hoe zij dit zo mooi bij elkaar hebben weten te brengen op deze locatie in de Eilandspolder. Kunst en natuur gaan op prachtige wijze samen. Zijn sculpturen, duidelijk herkenbaar door de "aaibare" ronde vormen, zijn door heel Nederland, en ook in o.a. Amerika, Italië, Spanje, Griekenland, Duitsland en Frankrijk, te bewonderen. Zijn schilderijen, zeefdrukken en glasobjecten zijn heel kleurrijk om te zien.

FURNITURE DESIGN: VITRA LOUNGE CHAIR & OTTOMAN

I really love this Vitra lounge chair & ottoman in black and white!

Charles & Ray Eames, 1956
The Lounge Chair is one of the most famous designs by Charles and Ray Eames. Created in 1956 it is now a classic in the history of modern furniture. Since 1956, the Eames Lounge Chair has combined ultimate comfort with both materials and workmanship of the highest quality. In the tradition of the English club chair, which inspired this classic design by Charles and Ray Eames, the original appearance of the Lounge Chair was defined by a dark wood veneer and black leather. However, the Eameses also created an early version with light-coloured leather upholstery. Developed in cooperation with the Eames Office, Vitra now introduces a new interpretation of the Lounge Chair. With white leather, polished aluminium and walnut veneer in a light finish, the new version harmonises perfectly with light-coloured interiors. The Lounge Chair is now also available in a version that allows maximum comfort for tall people.
