INTERIOR: Interesting Townhouse, Opposites Attract

Townhouse proves opposites attract
Beautiful interior designed by the Swedish interior designer, Marie Olsson Nylander. I really love her style. So bright with all the white tones. The combination of the rustic woods and the eclectic, vintage furniture is very interesting. Love it! When planning the perfect interior, having solid structural bones is a great start… but it only gets you so far. After that, you’ve got to use your own instincts, tastes and budget to create something spectacular.

Swedish interior designer Marie Olsson Nylander created this exceptional interior by renovating a 1970s townhouse (featuring a spiral staircase to die for) and making it truly wonderful.

One of the most important elements at play here is the use of textures. The layering of a diverse range of textures and colors adds not only visual interest, but tactile interest as well.

The place looks almost as though it was meant to be photographed. But unlike some other picture-perfect homes, it looks equally comfortable and entirely livable.

The stark white is broken up with unexpected and playful pops of bright color, while the rustic wood textures are perfectly offset with lush velvets, smooth linens and patterned metal lattices.

Ample natural light from the huge window at one end of the loft certainly helps to keep the home looking comfortable and airy. But when the sun goes down, there is an almost dizzying array of lighting fixtures to make the space glow.

Somehow, even the storage area manages to look wonderfully interesting – as though it’s just inviting you to come and run your hand along all of the treasures lovingly stashed on the shelves.

Grouping similar objects together has its place in design – but an eclectic mash-up of modern, vintage, rustic, sleek, ethnic and whatever else you happen to love can be just as lovely and even more visually striking.

INTERIEUR: mooie meubelen bij Rofrahome NL

Een impressie zegt meer dan veel woorden. Recentelijk was ik bij Rofra Home Alkmaar. Ik heb daar leuke, inspirerende meubelen gezien. Rofra Home heeft een collectie die opvalt door verscheidenheid, originaliteit en exclusiviteit. Van café tot conferentieoord, van hotel tot kantoor. PHOTOSHOOT AT A DUTCH FARMHOUSE

Earlier, together with the Dutch photographer John Hunt (Amstel Imaging B.V.), we did do a photoshoot at a farmhouse in Holland. Our model is farmer Tom.

Eerder ben ik bezig geweest met een fotoshoot, waarbij een persoon voor 1 dag model is. Samen met fotograaf John Hunt (Amstel Imaging B.V.) zijn we hiermee aan de slag gegaan. We hebben vier fotoshoots gedaan op respectievelijk een boerderij in Noord-Holland / beeldentuin Nic Jonk, in het Vondelpark te Amsterdam en in een appartement in Amsterdam.

Boer Tom:

Boer Tom is het eerste model. Tom is al jaren veeboer, bezit een mooie boerderij in Noord-Holland waar hij dagelijks zijn koeien, schapen en kippen verzorgt. Af en toe vindt hij het leuk om in the picture te staan en even geen overall aan te hebben. Zie hier het resultaat: buiten op zijn erf met zijn trouwe hond aan zijn voeten én in zijn gezellige boeren woonkeuken. 

Op de lange termijn lijkt het me leuk om fotoshoots te doen met chique avondkleding in combinatie met professionele haar en visagie. In deze fotoshoot heeft boer Tom zelf zijn haar en kleding verzorgd.

Interiorstyling: Pine Design Wonen - houten tafels en dressoirs

 Stoere houten tafels en dressoirs gezien bij Pine Design Wonen, Zuidlaren (NL). Leuke woonwinkel met diverse woonstijlen en woonaccessoires. De blauwe zithoek (zie foto hierboven) én de stevige witte eettafel met blauwe stoelen erom heen vind ik ook erg mooi om te zien. De combinatie blauw met wit geeft de woonkamer een hele frisse uitstraling.
