 Now and then I will share some photos from the area where I live. I live in North of Holland. It's about 40 kilometers from our capital Amsterdam (NL). I guess that my readers would like to know a bit more about me as a blogger (the person behind this blog, the area where I live ......).

This week I went by bike to the Dutch place Egmond-Binnen to pick up a delivered package. The area is quite country-sided with open fields with huge trees and houses. Lots of space with cows, goats and sheeps grazing, really peaceful ...... While cycling I came across this field with yellow flowers and a large farmhouse. There was a beautiful sky with lots of clouds. Of course I could not resist to take a quick photo with my mobile phone. Greetings from Irene. p.s. Sail Amsterdam 2025: Een fantastisch optreden van de Beun Brass Band

Graag wil ik vandaag de Beun Brass Band uit Delft in de picture zetten ........ Vorige week ben ik naar Sail Amsterdam 2025 geweest en kwam daar deze geweldige brass band tegen op het muziekpodium Kop van Java. Daar ik binnenkort met een studie Videografie start besloot ik ter plekke alvast wat foto's en video's te maken. Het is een fantastische band! De dynamiek spetterde er vanaf. De foto's en video's geven goed de sfeer weer van die middag. Ik heb contact gehad met 1 van de bandleden (Karan), zie hieronder. Meer informatie over deze inspirerende band treft u hieronder aan.

MEER OVER DE BEUN BRASS BAND

Ik was in gesprek met 1 van de bandleden, Karan genaamd. Zie hieronder zijn reactie.  

Wie zijn jullie als muziekband?

Wij zijn de Beun Brass Band, als een powerhouse van acht fantastische brass magicians brengen wij dé soundtrack van een onvergetelijke avond. Onze shows zijn geen gewone optredens: ze zijn interactieve, opwindende belevenissen die iedereen in beweging krijgt. Wil je alvast de sfeer proeven, neem dan een kijkje op onze Instagram account @beunbrassband.

Wanneer zijn jullie gestart met de band? 

De band is bij een Ledenweekend van een Jazz Studentenvereniging ontstaan vijf jaar geleden als geknutselde oplossing voor een vervangend avondprogramma. Vandaar "Beun"  in de naam. Inmiddels is de bezetting uitgebreid naar een volwaardige brassband.

Uit hoeveel leden bestaat de band? 

We zijn in totaal met acht vrienden / muzikanten waarvan de bezetting nog wel eens rouleert. De basisbezetting bestaat uit 2 trompetten, 2 trombones, drums, een alt en bariton saxofoon en een sousafoon.  

Wat voor een muziekgenre spelen jullie? 

Wij spelen bekende popmuziek waarbij het publiek niet stil kan zitten. De rauwe kracht van de blaasinstrumenten helpt enorm met de energie over te brengen naar het publiek. Iedereen kan meezingen en dansen, jong en oud!

Wat willen jullie uitdragen? 

Op de eerste plaats staat vooral plezier met de hechte vriendengroep die we hebben. Dit is ook zeker geen geheim naar het publiek toe maar is juist ons verkoopkaartje. Een enthousiaste band die niets leuker vindt dan samen muziek maken en het publiek te entertainen. Groeien en bekender worden is altijd gaaf, zolang het "mogen" blijft en niet "moeten" wordt.

Wat is jullie achtergrond als muzikant? 

Wij zijn eigenlijk allemaal studenten aan de TU Delft, een hele andere tak van sport dan muziek maken. Daar hebben we elkaar gevonden bij een Jazz Studentenvereniging en een Studenten Bigband. Iedereen heeft bijna wel daarvoor ervaring gehad met jeugdbigbands, harmonie en fanfaremuziek.

Waar willen jullie over vijf of tien jaar staan met de Beun Brass Band?

Photo shoot: Bernadetta with an elegant hat design .......

 
I am busy with a study Photography. Last week I did do my first fashion shoot. Bernadetta was my model in front of my camera. I had two nice hat designs and asked her if she has an elegant black dress and we just started ........ Bernadetta is such a beautiful and elegant woman. She did do a great job! I was happy with my 1st results. Hope you like the chosen photos too. :-)

This photo was made with my smartphone while I was on my way by bike. Could not resist to make a photo while passing by this beautiful place. This is 'The Black Barn' in the Dutch place Bergen. In the previous century it was a sawmill and nowadays used as a cinema.

Fotografie: Alkmaar Light Festival 2022 - 1 groot lichtspektakel (Deel 2)

Alkmaar Light Festival 2022, 1 groot lichtspektakel.
Het 1e weekend nadat de wintertijd is ingegaan veranderde Alkmaar één groot lichtspektakel. Met lichtshows op gebouwen, muziek, live theater en bijzondere lichtobjecten in straatjes en op pleinen beleefde je de stad zoals je dat niet eerder deed. Dit vond plaats op 4 en 5 november 2022. Er waren vele highlights te zien en te ervaren o.a. een spectaculaire projectie op de prachtige Ringersfabriek, een fantastische videoshow op de Waagtoren, een muzikaal lichtkunstwerk met 1848 relais uit 300 sloopauto’s en bewegende regendruppels die door de Laurentiuskerk zweefden gecombineerd met klassieke muziek. Hierbij voeg ik een aantal foto's toe ter inspiratie. Fotografie: Alkmaar Light Festival 2022 - 1 groot lichtspektakel (Deel 1)

Alkmaar Light Festival 2022, 1 groot lichtspektakel.
Het 1e weekend nadat de wintertijd is ingegaan veranderde Alkmaar één groot lichtspektakel. Met lichtshows op gebouwen, muziek, live theater en bijzondere lichtobjecten in straatjes en op pleinen beleefde je de stad zoals je dat niet eerder deed. Dit vond plaats op 4 en 5 november 2022. Eén van de hoogtepunten van het festival bevond zich in de Laurentiuskerk. Daar zweefden bewegende regendruppels door de kerk en werd er klassieke muziek gespeeld. Hierbij voeg ik een paar foto's toe van de verlichte kerk.
