Be inspired by this fantastic collection from fashion designer Tadashi Shoji  for F/W 2020, seen at New York Fashion Week. What a beautiful gowns to see and what a stunning graphic blue eye makeup! Daniel Martin, lead make-up artist used it for a splattered eyeshadow effect. He made this bold prediction for 2020: 'blue is the new black when creating a bold eye'. But instead of just filling the entire lid with color, Martin used a dual-fiber brush to give the outer edges what he describes as hashtag-like points. "From the runway, you see the shape," he said. "But up close, you see the intricacy of the brush. It's almost like a Jackson Pollack [painting]."

Introduction: Fluid Art by Irene Pouw (01)

 In January 2020 I started with making fluid art. It is so much fun to do and I noticed it really makes me happy. Today I will show you one of my first fluid artworks. I used here some silicone oil to create cells. For more artworks: see also my INSTAGRAM account. Have a great day!

My name is Irene Pouw. I live in Holland not so far from the city Amsterdam. I am a blogger, haute couture lover, interiorstylist and management assistant. I am a great lover of art. I always had this interest to discover beauty, colors, harmony and diversity in art. Art can surprise and touch us in so many ways. Long time readers noticed already that I wrote quite some art blogs (meanwhile 269 blogs) in the past years, see HERE. 

Many years I wished to make abstract art by myself but I was too busy with other things. Besides that I did not know exactly where and how to start. So finally in January 2020 I started with making fluid / abstract art and it is really fun! I feel a deep desire to express myself in creativity, using colors and abstract forms. Would like to develop myself the coming years as a creative artist by learning all kind of new techniques and discover unknown areas of freedom and expression. RUNWAY: RALPH & RUSSO S/S 2014 HAUTE COUTURE

Flashbacks: Be Inspired by this gorgeous Haute Couture collection from Ralph & Russo for Spring/Summer 2014. Fantastic gowns, sophisticated, feminine & graceful. Exuding of allure, sophistication and utmost femininity, each look is a reminder of the glorious 1940s and 1950s: high points in fashion that were so magically captured by the likes of Walde Huth, Henry Clarke, Irving Penn, Willy Maywald and Lillian Bassman. The power and drama of that era’s black-and-white fashion imagery is reflected in the cinched waists, the graphic silhouettes and the generous volumes of classic ball gowns in gazar and organza. Embellishment has been inspired by the romance of an archetypical French garden -jardin à la française – with ornate patterns intricately hand-embroidered on silk crêpe and Chantilly lace. Graceful and timeless, the Spring/Summer 2014 collection weaves together exquisite craftsmanship, regal geometries and overall grandeur in an ethereal ‘bouquet’; a fresh interpretation of iconic glamour.

I guess long time readers know how much I love the collections from fashion designer Dries van Noten.
