About the designer:

Claire-Anne O'Brien is a textile designer specialising in knitting. Originally from Ireland she has graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2010 with a Masters in Textiles. Her work plays with technique and scale creating playful and tactile fabrics for interiors. This sculptural approach to textiles brings fabrics to life in three dimensions through form exploration and furniture. Instead of draping a shirt of the back of a chair, she proposes an entertaining alternative: cover it with a comfortable lambswool button-down sweater complete with ribs, cuffs, button holes, cut and fashioned to envelope and pad your seat. Painting colors: Top selling Benjamin Moore Blues ......

I am in love with these lovely soft blue hues from Benjamin Moore. I always had some blue colors like these in every house I have lived before. I am not surprised that the colors below are top selling colors at Benjamin Moore. They are inviting, fresh and pleasant to see. You can also use them very well for homestaging, to sell your house quicker as they give a soft and harmonious atmosphere in house. Here they are: Boothbay gray, Breath of fresh air, November skies, MT Rainer gray, Nimbus gray, Quiet moments, Santorini, Van Cortland blue, Van Deusen blue. I wrote earlier a blog about the positive effect of the color blue for homestaging, see THIS LINK Be Inspired .....

Interior Design: Amazing London House & Garden by Studio MacLean

Be inspired by this amazing London house & garden studio! British interiors firm Studio MacLean designed the renovation of this West London property – which measures 371 square metres – and its garden studio for a family who wanted to update the interiors with timeless finishes. Studio MacLean used monochrome paintwork, oak chevron flooring, cherry wood and marble finishes to overhaul this London house. Love many aspects of this house, like the monochrome palette in white and black, the oak parquet, the kitchen with wood and marble, the black custom-made steel doors as well as black painted radiator and staircase. And last but least the beautiful lighting design.

Lighting Design: Woody Endless - Straight by Jason Miller

Would like to share with you today this beautiful lighting design, Woody Endless - Straight by Jason Miller. Jason Miller’s Endless collection takes its inspiration from 1970s Super-graphics. After the reductionist intentions of modernism faded, some architects began to use large-scale graphic elements to define space. Graphic design became architecture; Endless was designed in the same spirit. Cylindrical sections and corner units allow Endless to be custom-configured as an architectural element. Jason Miller is a Brooklyn-based designer and the founder of Roll & Hill. Born and raised in Darien, Connecticut, Jason’s suburban upbringing heavily influenced his early, more conceptual pieces — duct-taped chairs and cracked vases, among them — and continues to inform the elegant, historically rich work that has become his signature. Jason received an MFA in painting and spent time in both the art and advertising worlds, but soon realized he preferred making things to documenting them. His designs — like a mirror whose photographic surface recalls a painted landscape — still often reflect those early preoccupations, but each is a functional object, with a kind of beauty and wit. Today, Jason runs both Jason Miller Studio and Roll & Hill from his headquarters in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

Stunning line of handmade jewellery by Chao-Hsien Kuo

Enchanting Finland is a stunning line of handmade jewellery made by designer Chao-Hsien Kuo. Delicate and ethereal, the collection is inspired by a tall, purple-pink flowing wildflower that grows by the side of the roads in Finland. This blogpost is a repost of my blog of 18-04-2015. Be Inspired ........

The jewellery is a perfect combination of hand-crafted work that’s aided by modern technology. Chao uses anticlastic forming, a way of hammering wood by hand that takes years to master. To further play with the reflection of light on the jewellery, she attached 24K gold foil on top of the silver jewellery. Each piece is unique and can’t be replicated.

Bathrooms: Sophisticated baths from the German company Bette (01)

While surfing today on internet I saw this sophisticated serie 'Bette Loft' baths and washbasins from the German company Bette. What a Beauty and Craftsmanship! While taking a look at their website, I saw lots of more stunning designs. I am totally not surprised that they became the German Design Award Winner 2018. Bette is a German family-run company. They have been producing premium architectural bathroom components from steel-titanium alloy enamelled with purely natural materials since 1952. Their thermoforming process allows them to create flowing shapes with extraordinary craftsmanship and precision. Scandinavian Design: Inspiring residential project 'Apt LA' by Lotta Agaton

John Pomp, founder of John Pomp Studios, began his journey to master-craftsman in his early life while watching his father work as a carpenter. Soon after, he was introduced to glassblowing through his mentor, sculptor and good friend whom he studied with for many years. From there on, he was determined to dedicate his life to his passion of mastering the art of glass making. After studying the ancient art of venetian glassblowing by maestros from Murano Italy, Pomp spent 10 years of his early career in NYC where he gained notoriety with his artfully crafted collections created primarily from glass.

John’s philosophy to create his collection essentially melds his eastern heritage with his western background. Using nature as his inspiration, John utilizes its intrinsic organic, “Wabi-Sabi” principles and fuses it with his contemporary style, forming a unique approach to this old-world art of glass making. John Pomp’s work exemplifies the purity of natural materials while embracing their inherent historical and elemental qualities – yielding a simple, organic modern aesthetic.
