PFW: Stunning S/S 2023 Haute Couture collection by Gaurav Gupta, Part 02

Be Inspired by this stunning haute couture collection from Indian master couturier Gaurav Gupta for the season Spring/Summer 2023, seen at Paris Fashion Week. Earlier I wrote more blogs about Haute Couture, SEE HERE

More about the designer and his S/S 2023 couture collection

Gaurav Gupta is the third Indian designer ever, to show at Haute Couture Week and at Palais de Tokyo, he unveiled his spring-summer 2023 couture collection. Known for his sculpted designs in couture and ready-to-wear, his themes in surrealism and fanaticism, as well as his fine jewelry make him sought after. The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (FHCM) chose Gupta to be on the official calendar because of his quintessential Indian core, of incorporating indigenous construction and the flamboyant details of his craftsmanship.

Graduating from Central Saint Martins in London, Gupta launched his brand in 2004 and today, he has been able to create a brand that permeates on the world’s stage. Having dressed Megan, Thee Stallion at the Grammy’s last year, Jennifer Hudson, and Latin artist Maluma at the Latin Billboards has allowed him the opportunity to grab the attention of the celebrity world. The man and woman that wears Gaurav Gupta are quite unique with a distinct personality.

“My brand is very couture and futuristic but rooted in detailed craftsmanship,” says Gupta. “Our aesthetic is usually described as future primitive as I mostly draw inspiration from fantastical, surreal themes and hence, it’s almost like a parallel spectrum that we think in. The woman who wants to experiment, make a statement, feel glamorous, and is confident is the woman who wears the brand. She’s self-aware, travels and likes to dress up in fantasy – with a purpose and somebody who is artistically curious and has a keen eye for detail.”

“Haute Couture Week is the mecca of fashion. It is an honor to represent our country and partake in a spectacle which celebrates the art of couture and supreme craftsmanship. The team and I were eagerly looking forward to exhibiting the world of Gaurav Gupta on such a revered global platform, which has been uniting the world with fashion – bestowing creative opportunities upon couturiers who have been creating magic,” says Gupta.

While surfing on internet I found this fantastic bridal collection 2020 from fashion designer Rami Al Ali. Be Inspired ...... Earlier I wrote more bridal blogs, SEE HERE

MORE ABOUT THE DESIGNER

ROOTS
For Syrian-born designer Rami Al Ali, his love of refined aesthetics began at an early age. His curiosity for fine fabrics and design led him to study Visual Arts at the college of Fine Arts in Damascus, Syria, where his true talent became apparent. After astounding his professors with an unorthodox presentation of the core curriculum, Al Ali graduated in 1995 and quickly started his fashion career in Dubai and Beirut. It was in these two great cities that Al Ali worked with some of the region’s leading fashion houses.
RISE
Established in Dubai in 2001, Rami Al Ali Couture entered the fashion arena with bold creations and uncompromising couture designs. After a number of inspiring fashion shows around the Gulf, Al Ali’s popularity spread and his designs began to occupy the pages of leading fashion publications such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and Business of Fashion.

The excitement continued and garnered attention from global brands such as Swarovski, when Al Ali was selected to be part of Unbridaled, a book published by the global Austrian crystal brand, with revered couture veterans Giorgio Armani, Vivian Westwood and John Galliano, amongst others. Later, the house collaborated with many notable creatives, such as Spanish architect Carmelo Zappulla for Expo 2020 Dubai for the design and craft program, Lebanese Jewelry designer Nadine Kanso, international high street giant Charles & Keith, the private airline Royal Jet and many fine jewellery brands such as Bulgari, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Messika.

JOURNEY
Al Ali’s ultimate breakthrough came in 2009, when he was invited as a guest member of Alta Moda Alta Roma, showing his Spring/Summer Couture collection on the official couture week calendar. This further strengthened relationships with the European fashion media and his success was reaffirmed when The Middle East Magazine named him as one of the top 50 most influential Arabs.

In January 2012, Al Ali debuted at Couture Fashion Week in Paris, showcasing his Spring/Summer 2012 collection. With a series of collections, Al Ali has successfully built and maintained a brand that exhibits unique craftsmanship and a vision of creativity.

In 2014, Rami Al Ali launched his Ready-To-Wear line which consists of classic silhouettes and elegant lines reflecting a modern approach to luxurious evening-wear. In 2020, the brand went on to expand in yet another line and launched Rami Al Ali White. The collection is a new edition of Ready-To-Wear bridal designs. Today, Al Ali’s designs are synonymous with creative artistry, modern elegance and sought-after socialites and international celebrities.

The Beauty of Art: 'Venice' by Russian painter Gleb Goloubetski, Part 2

Would like to share with you today this inspiring artwork from Venice from the very talented Russian painter / impressionist Gleb Goloubetski. What an interesting techniques and delightful coloruse he is using here. Earlier I wrote more blogs about ART, SEE HERE

The artist, Gleb Goloubetski
More about Gleb
Born in Omsk in the former Soviet Union in 1975, Gleb Goloubetski displayed noticeable artistic talent as a child under the tutelage of his father who was also a successful painter.

Gleb's formal training came from his studies at the highly acclaimed academy in St Petersburg where his work attracted much attention. Gleb's inspiration comes primarily from the aged architecture and geography of Europe. He travels extensively in the United Kingdom, the Mediterranean, the Far East, and Maui looking for images to paint. When he finds a view that inspires him, Gleb will sit and absorb it for some time, paying particular attention to how the natural light conditions of the day influence his perspective and moreover his emotional response.

Returning to his main studio in St Petersburg, Gleb will sit and consider his reference material. Reminding himself of scale, he then begins to paint. It is Gleb's emotional response to the subject that he conveys to the canvas, in oil, with only his palette knife.
