While surfing earlier on internet I saw these beautiful, colorful abstract paintings from the Dutch artist Arie Koning. Arie Koning captures the essence of flowers. He invites you to experience the joy and energy in the deepest heart of the flower, as expressed in the light and colors of his colorful paintings. This particularly gives expression to the deepest core of flower, the nature, the soul of the flower. I am a huge fan of this inspiring artist. Project design is what Jeanet Hage always has inspired and her inspiration source is nature. She says: 'Nature can offer immeasurable possibilities for photographing'. Jeanet is since 2009 busy with Digital Art. This means: art created by the computer. She is using merely her own materials, unless it concerns an assignment for a client. A new design starts by working with forms, lines and colors of a selected photo. The images of the original photo are often not recognizable anymore and became (half) abstract and figurative creations. Are you also inspired by this interesting abstract work? Ursula J. Brenner creates a diverse array of landscapes and contemporary abstracts in acrylics and encaustics, using contrasts in form and color to underscore emotion in each piece. Ursula’s art reflects a wide range of moods, from light and playful to deep and mysterious. Born in Germany, Ursula has been influenced by a rich cultural background of old world museums, art, music and architecture. She lives and works in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she attended Edgecliff College on scholarship, graduating in 1978 with a BA in Drawing and Painting.

She has studied with and been influenced by the work of Wolf Kahn, Susan Sarback, Doug Dawson and Albert Handell. Always filled with ideas, Ursula can be as inspired by driving in the country as looking through a magazine. She likes to focus on the fundamental nature of a scene – the values, colors and shapes -using a “notan” study, a Japanese method of examining lights and darks. She enjoys alternating between landscapes and abstracts to keep her interest in both genres high. Ursula experiences a spiritual connection as she creates art, something she wants the viewer to experience as well. “My art makes a strong, bold statement, an unambiguous statement,” says the artist. “Yet it can be very ethereal too.I want people who look at my art to be transported into another realm, to transcend the normal human experience.”

Ursula is represented by selected galleries. Her paintings are featured in private and corporate collections internationally, She works with interior designers and art consultants and accepts commissioned work. A national award-winning artist, Ursula was chosen to attend the Vermont Studio Center on partial scholarship in 2002.

Artist Juan Cruz Reverberi was born in Tucumán, a northern city in Argentina, known for its history and education. Winning a prize in a painting contest in Buenos Aires when he was just five years old, Juan Cruz’s artistic career had an unconventional beginning with a six-year degree in architecture, with a background in complex geometry and advanced mathematics.

Juan Cruz has a natural and intuitive talent that has been honed and expanded on through his traveling experiences around Europe and the Americas especially Hawaii. He received his degree in architecture from the University of Architecture and Urbanism of Tucumán and started working with his father in the family firm at a very young age. Immediately, Juan was immersed in a variety of projects as well as specializing in luxury high rise building apartments in New York City while gaining valuable insight to a deeper passion – painting. 

After living in Maui and New York for a decade, Juan Cruz broadened his artistic methodologies and ability to express his art and design through earth-friendly technologies and ultimately an evolving passion for nature. Juan Cruz’s paintings often inspire questions. Complex geometry and rich textures intrigue viewers who are often surprised to learn that the paintings are in fact both imaginary abstract worlds and human spaces, often filled with water and constantly with an architectural reminiscent. 

Juan Cruz has moved away from figurative painting and drawing and begun experimenting with large format abstracts pieces. His new work is heavily influenced by life experiences he had while working as an architect in Maui and New York. In both his paintings and drawings Juan Cruz Reverberi use color, light, texture and extensive layers to create abstracts symbols that are extremely colorful and expressive. He has engaged in an intellectual and sophisticated but also a spiritual style since the beginning of his career. He states that part of the process is to paint something that speak back to him while painting, inviting him to experience it in a introspective or inward looking manner. 

Currently, he resides in New York, still greatly influenced by Maui’s majestic shoreline, life experiences and a profound respect for the environment. Juan Cruz continues to express his spiritual art. His work appears in public and private collections in the U.S, England, New Zealand and Argentina. In his free time he can be seen windsurfing out East New York or dancing tango in Manhattan.

Art: Cloud Gate sculpture at Millennium Park, Chicago by Anish Kapoor

While surfing on internet tonight I saw this inspiring sculpture. It's the Cloud Gate sculpture at Millennium Park, Chicago by the artist Anish Kapoor. The Cloud Gate sculpture, also known as "The Bean" is one of the highlights of Millennium Park. Designed by the artist Anish Kapoor, the Bean sculpture is made of 168 highly polished stainless steel plates - giving the appearance of liquid mercury. Up close, the highly reflective nature of the sculpture captures the beautiful skyline of Chicago. What a beautiful and impressive piece of art! Be Inspired .......

Anish Kapoor (Bombay, 1954) has lived in London since the early 1970s where he began his distinguished career as a student at Hornsey College of Art and Chelsea School of Art Design. Over the last 20 years, Kapoor has emerged as one of the most prolific and respected sculptors in the world. In July 2004, Kapoor unveiled his first-ever site-specific installation in the U.S. with a monumental work that anchors Millennium Park.

Today I would like to show you his new work: the hand-painted Philippe Starck art chairs. Ton transformed the model Driade into these colorful art chairs below. The titles of the chairs are: "Beastly" (full with beasts) and "Escape from the city & feel free". What a great art pieces! Would love to have one piece in my garden. :-)

Ton Pret is a painter artist with a very personal style, characterized by a very bold use of color, incredibly imaginative figures and an explosion of enthusiasm, spontaneity, passion and positivity. Influential people in the world of art as Erik Hermida and Geert Jan Jansen describe the style of Ton Pret as "exponent of Cobra," "Cobra 60 years later" or "Cobra of the 21st century." Whatever you call it, it is clearly the "Ton Pret Style". The style of Ton Pret is best described as "colorful realism of a different reality, with a strong positive effect". With his work Ton wants to bring out the positive in man, by taking them to another reality, where positivity is the most important factor.

Although as a child Ton drew a lot, molded and did other forms of creativity. It took many years before he decided to become a painter artist. From one day to another, he knocked over the helm and has followed his heart. He also has no single artistic training, but is a pure autodidact who totally isn’t guided by rules or tendencies, but only follows his spontaneity and inexhaustible fantasy. The paintings of Ton are his transformation into another reality. With his paintings he gives the viewer the opportunity to share this other reality. The viewer is token to another dimension and experience, which gives a certain feeling of  happiness.

In a very short time, Ton became well known in the world of art and his work was also seen in the famous Amsterdam Beurs van Berlage, the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, Ascona, The Louvre museum in Paris, Barcelona and the Rotterdam Kunsthal museum. Not only his paintings and sculptures are sought after by collectors and enthusiasts, but also his famous art shoes, jeans, jackets, watches, design furniture etc. have become true collector items. For this reason Ton designed special art shoes for Dutch most exclusive shoe brand Greve and also for the catwalk in Paris. Even the Dutch Shoes Museum added some art high heels to their collection and his art edition of the Michael Kors handbag, is added to the collection of the Dutch Museum of Bags & Purses in Amsterdam.

Among his clients are well known collectors and celebrities, who also appreciate his work and even one of them let Ton painted his Ferrari 355 GTS in a real driving artwork. Ton also did some furniture design and some really serious designers are working with him in collaboration. Even the famous Alessandro Mendini is interested in a collaboration. Other very special pieces of art, are a hand-painted design bath tube for a design company and an original Fender Stratocaster in collaboration with the famous French guitaris Jean-Pierre Danel, Brian May (QUEEN) and Steve Lukather (TOTO), Hank Marvin (SHADOWS) and French superstar Jean-Jacques Goldman. Furher on art editions of the famous Philippe Starck chairs, an art edition of an Italian design bike for Duedipicche. And .... recently some very special glasses and sunglasses for American Eyewear Design Alliance, which will go global. And there is a lot more to come.

Art: Ballet dancers by Russian artist Anastasia Vostrezova

While surfing this morning on internet I found this beautiful painting from the talented Russian artist Anastasia Vostrezova. What a Beauty! I guess you've noticed already that I love art and ballet too. Be inspired ....... 

What Anastasia Vostrezova wrote about herself:
My name is Anastasia. I live in St. Petersburg, in Russia. If you are here, it means that you love ballet and dancing as much as I do. I’ve been developing these themes in my art for more than 12 years. For me ballet and the world behind-the-stage is a miracle, grace and lightness. This is what I try to show in my works.
My works are dedicated to ballet because I adore theater and admire ballet. My endless source of inspirations is what is going on behind the scenes, dressing rooms, rehearsals, and actors. For me ballet and the world behind-the-stage is a miracle, a grace and a lightness. This is what I try to show in my works. Among my paintings there are plots of my imagination and ballets from the repertoire of different theaters.
Still-life is another favorite genre. And once inspired by the abundance of flowers in Summer I create new still-lifes. The antique that I collect is another source of inspiration for me.

Anastasia was born in 1981 in a family of artists. She spent all of her childhood in Moscow and in Pereslavl-Zalesski where her family had a summer house. She graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg 2008.

Her personal reaction:

- I see painting as the art of depicting the world in its beauty, be it a person, landscape or flower. Everything has its own color, its own mood, its own soul.

In the physical world, through the perfection of form, the divine manifests itself in beauty. Beauty reveals and depicts what is eternal. In my paintings, I try to follow this practice in an effort to ensure that in the hearts of viewers, the painting arouses a world of thoughts, emotions – happy or sad, but always poetic and sublime.
Not always and not in every artwork can this result be achieved, but this is the main objective, without which painting becomes meaningless. I spend a lot of time in the ballet theater, and in the auditorium, as well as backstage during performances and rehearsals.

It is impossible not to love this magnificent scenic world. I often talk with the artists, musicians, people of ballet and I am very close to the words of the great Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova, addressed towards all ballet dancers and artists alike … and even towards all people: “Let’s dance more, and try to find more beauty in the dance as well as in life.

A true artist – whether he dances or does something else – always strives for beauty. So let us become one with the world of true artists, just as we become one with the world of dancers, because by replacing ugliness with beauty in visual images and intangible areas, we come a little closer to happiness and completeness -

ART: KAREL APPEL, THE AVANT-GARDIST COBRA (02)

I admire the spontaneous abstract work by Dutch artist Karel Appel. Below you will find a painting from him, some additional information about him as a painter and several links, which I found after my research on internet. Last year I bought several blank canvases, paint as well as some knifes to start painting myself. Would love to paint in a spontaneous way like he did do. Christiaan Karel Appel was a Dutch painter, sculptor, poet and one of the founders of the avant-garde movement CoBrA. Karel Appel was born on 25 April 1921 at Dapperstraat 7 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. At fourteen, he produced his first real painting on canvas, a still life of a fruit basket. For his fifteenth birthday, his uncle gave him a paint set and an easel, and also taught him painting briefly. Appel studied at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, where he meet the dutch painter Corneille and some years later, Constant; they became close friends for years.

In 1948 Appel joined CoBrA (from:Copenhagen, Bruxelles, Amsterdam) with Corneille, Constant and Jan Nieuwenhuys and the Belgian poet Christian Dotremont. This artistic movement was formed with a unifying doctrine of complete freedom of colour and form, as well as antipathy towards Surrealism.Their working method was based on spontaneity and experiment, and they drew their inspiration in particular from children’s drawings, from primitive art forms and from the work of Paul Klee and Joan Miró. The new art of the CoBrA-group was not popular in the Netherlands, but it found a warm and broad welcome in Denmark. 

As a result of this controversy and other negative Dutch reactions to CoBrA, Appel moved to Paris in 1950 and developed his international reputation by travelling to Mexico, the USA, Yugoslavia and Brazil. Appel died on 3 May 2006 in his home in Zürich, Switzerland.
