Lighting Design: Woody Endless - Straight by Jason Miller

Would like to share with you today this beautiful lighting design, Woody Endless - Straight by Jason Miller. Jason Miller’s Endless collection takes its inspiration from 1970s Super-graphics. After the reductionist intentions of modernism faded, some architects began to use large-scale graphic elements to define space. Graphic design became architecture; Endless was designed in the same spirit. Cylindrical sections and corner units allow Endless to be custom-configured as an architectural element. This is a repost of my post of 09-11-2014. Be Inspired .......
More about the designer:
Jason Miller is a Brooklyn-based designer and the founder of Roll & Hill. Born and raised in Darien, Connecticut, Jason’s suburban upbringing heavily influenced his early, more conceptual pieces — duct-taped chairs and cracked vases, among them — and continues to inform the elegant, historically rich work that has become his signature. Jason received an MFA in painting and spent time in both the art and advertising worlds, but soon realized he preferred making things to documenting them. His designs — like a mirror whose photographic surface recalls a painted landscape — still often reflect those early preoccupations, but each is a functional object, with a kind of beauty and wit. Today, Jason runs both Jason Miller Studio and Roll & Hill from his headquarters in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

Interior Decorator Alex Papachristidis

Would like to share with you this beautiful work of interior decorator Alex Papachristidis for his elegance, sophistication and luxury. The work of Alex Papachristidis can be described as a dynamic fusion of modern and eclectic combined with luxury and tradition. Editors, designers and clients alike use the word “fresh” to define his approach, his color palette and the delightful details that make even a small room sizzle with style. This blogpost is a repost of my blog of 07-12-2014. Be Inspired .......
Born and raised in New York City, Papachristidis got his first big commission - a large Manhattan apartment - while a student at Parsons School of Design. This quickly led to a second project, a townhouse, for a couple he met at a dinner party in the South of France. “Once I started,” says Alex, “I never looked back. I established my own firm in 1987. Even now, I find decorating the most amazing career. I can’t imagine doing anything else. Growing up, I traveled widely and saw many beautiful homes in Europe and America, which helped cultivate my eye. And I was born to shop!”
Today, Papachristidis’ interiors can be found all over the world from Manhattan, the Hamptons, Connecticut, Florida, Texas and Colorado - to London and Saudi Arabia. Recent projects include a grand English style country house in the Hamptons, with a creative layering of patterns, embroidery and sisals; an Eaton Square apartment with an unexpected mix of modern and 18th century furniture; and a Westchester home with whimsical old world prints, silk velvets and chinoiserie.
Unlike some designers, Papachristidis welcomes his clients’ ideas. “Often the most interesting projects are the ones in which a savvy client is intimately involved,” he says. A perfectionist, he likes to see a project through to its smallest details - from the finials on lamps to custom made linens and couture tissue holders. “The greatest pleasure for me,” says Papachristidis, “is when clients tell us we’ve turned their home into an ‘exquisite haven,’ a place to simply sit back, relax and enjoy.” In December 2009, Papachristidis launched his first line of carpets and is currently developing furniture and fabric lines. Can't wait to buy his inspiring interiorbook: The Age of Elegance - Interiors by Alex Papachristidis.
