While surfing earlier on internet I saw these beautiful, colorful abstract paintings from the Dutch artist Arie Koning. Arie Koning captures the essence of flowers. He invites you to experience the joy and energy in the deepest heart of the flower, as expressed in the light and colors of his colorful paintings. This particularly gives expression to the deepest core of flower, the nature, the soul of the flower. I am a huge fan of this inspiring artist. ART: KAREL APPEL, THE AVANT-GARDIST COBRA (02)

I admire the spontaneous abstract work by Dutch artist Karel Appel. Below you will find a painting from him, some additional information about him as a painter and several links, which I found after my research on internet. Last year I bought several blank canvases, paint as well as some knifes to start painting myself. Would love to paint in a spontaneous way like he did do. Christiaan Karel Appel was a Dutch painter, sculptor, poet and one of the founders of the avant-garde movement CoBrA. Karel Appel was born on 25 April 1921 at Dapperstraat 7 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. At fourteen, he produced his first real painting on canvas, a still life of a fruit basket. For his fifteenth birthday, his uncle gave him a paint set and an easel, and also taught him painting briefly. Appel studied at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, where he meet the dutch painter Corneille and some years later, Constant; they became close friends for years.

In 1948 Appel joined CoBrA (from:Copenhagen, Bruxelles, Amsterdam) with Corneille, Constant and Jan Nieuwenhuys and the Belgian poet Christian Dotremont. This artistic movement was formed with a unifying doctrine of complete freedom of colour and form, as well as antipathy towards Surrealism.Their working method was based on spontaneity and experiment, and they drew their inspiration in particular from children’s drawings, from primitive art forms and from the work of Paul Klee and Joan Miró. The new art of the CoBrA-group was not popular in the Netherlands, but it found a warm and broad welcome in Denmark. 

As a result of this controversy and other negative Dutch reactions to CoBrA, Appel moved to Paris in 1950 and developed his international reputation by travelling to Mexico, the USA, Yugoslavia and Brazil. Appel died on 3 May 2006 in his home in Zürich, Switzerland.

Kitchens: Positive effect of colors for homestaging - the color Blue

Earlier I saw this interesting article from Elle Decor about the positive effect of colors for homestaging. A fresh coat of paint in the right color may help sell a home for more money. According to a Zillow analysis, homes with walls painted in shades of blue or light gray may sell for as much as a $ 5,400 premium. Homes with soft blue kitchens sell also very well. Anna is a graduate of the Russian State University For Arts, where she was awarded the distinction of high-class artist in 1991. Subsequently she studied art in Germany, Belgium and Holland. With solo exhibitions in New York, Paris, Toronto, Amsterdam, Antwerp and Berlin and numerous works in private collections across the globe, she has become one of the most exciting and collectable artists on the contemporary scene. 

Born at the height of the cold war, Anna was exposed to very different worlds, that of the austere communist regime alongside the sophistication and feminity of her fashion-conscious mother. She excelled at art school and enjoyed the freedom of learning and perfecting her technique in a variety of different media. Of particular interest to her were the portrait masters of the late 19th Century, John Singer Sargent, the Russian painter Valentin Serov and earlier masters such as Peter Paul Rubens and Rembrandt. She travelled around Europe absorbing the influences of artists past and present and finally settled in Canada which she now feels to be her true home. 

Looking at Anna Razumovskaya's works you always getting a feeling of artist sole tension behind the painting. "Romanticism" is the word to describe Anna's works. Interlacing of quiet tones with the bright color impact at the end is the trade mark of the artist. Abstract elements are the big aspect of every artwork and in a combination with the sensual dynamics, creates an unforgettable experience for the viewer.

Vladimir Babich is a contemporary Russian artist. He works in the style of Post Impressionism following the traditions of Van Gogh, Monet. Vladimir N. Babich graduated from the Moscow University of Art (Stroganovskoye uchilishye). He is a member of the Moscow Artists Association since 1986. Since 1993 he has been working for Marlboro Gallery in the USA and many private galleries. His oil on canvas paintings are acquired by the Gallery of Germany, Stuttgard. Many of his works are in private collections in Italy, USA, Hungary, Germany, France, Austria, Greece, Israel, South Korea, Philippines, China, Australia, Russia etc.

Izumi Kogahara is a Japanese painter and graphic designer, born in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. She was born in 1979. In the painting world, Izumi Kogahara is what one might call a natural-born master of color use. Her unique use of warm, cool and neutral colors in all directions produces a singular brilliance and depth from each hue. Kogahara is inspired by the energy of human beings that is generated not only by the instinct of life but also by the feeling generated by communicating with others.
