Beautiful Yacht Design Collection 'Baia' by Christophe Pillet for Ethimo

While surfing on internet this morning I found this beautiful yacht design collection called 'Baia' designed by Christophe Pillet. Ethimo and Christophe Pillet created a new line of outdoor furniture for ‘living on the sea’.

Baia makes an exciting foray into the world of yacht design and outdoor decor, suggesting an open-air lifestyle philosophy that from dry land moves out to sea, configuring the boat as space for living without limits. To be furnished in a refined comfortable way, where the interiors are in constant dialogue with the exteriors. Be Inspired ..........

More about the designer Christophe Pillet:
Lucidity of expression and the search for simplicity are the key principles: in the work of Christophe Pillet the elegance is optimized. Pillet’s perfect command of sensuality and refinement has made him one of the rare French designers who have gained global recognition designing hotels, boutiques and directing artistic projects in the USA, Great-Britain and Japan. He has won international acclaim for the spectrum and quality of his creations. Architecture, objects, furniture, artistic direction, his signature is invariably associated with the finest brands: Lacoste, Jean-Claude Jitrois, Catherine Malandrino, Lancel, Le Tannneur International.

The scope and the variety of his projects share a common attitude, independent of scale. Whether it be as design director for Lacoste or in long-term collaborations with Driade, Cappellini, Emu, Porro or Serralunga his considered interpretations are a testament to high-voltage chic, distinguished both by its precision and rigor. If a “Pillet style” exists, it is in his ability to crystallize, within a project, the excitement of a proposition.

Runway: Innovative designs by fashion designer Iris van Herpen

Haute Couture designer Iris van Herpen has always pushed the limited of fashion. Below you will find some beautiful designs from her. For more information about her background please have a look below or have a look at her website. Earlier I wrote more blogs about Iris van Herpen, SEE HERE

Van Herpen graduated from the ArtEZ Hogeschool voor Kunsten (ArtEZ Institute of the Arts) in Arnhem in 2006. Did an internship with Alexander McQueen, among others and started a label under her own name in 2007. A year later, she was nominated for the prestigious Createurope: The Fashion Academy Award. Her outfits appeared in Vogue, Numero, Harper’s Bazaar and Dazed and Confused. In conjunction with United Nude, she launched a limited-edition shoe line in 2010. In 2011, the 3-D dress that she designed was acclaimed by TIME Magazine as one of the fifty best inventions of the year. Van Herpen exhibits her work at home and abroad. Last year she was the winner of the Dutch Fashion Awards and the RADO Young Designer Awards. In 2011 Van Herpen became a member of the prestigious Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture.
The fashion designer Iris van Herpen

Craftsmanship and new techniques
Iris van Herpen is renowned for her remarkable outfits in which she combines traditional craftsmanship and zealous handwork with innovative techniques, such as rapid prototyping and radical material choices like processed leather sorts, synthetic boat rigging and the whalebones of children’s umbrellas. With these she creates sculptural effects with an astonishing visual impact, which appear both organic and futuristic. Creating a new silhouette is important in her work. Van Herpen regards fashion as a form of self-expression in which she translates her associations and fascinations with everyday reality into a collection. Each collection has its own narrative and wearability is not the ultimate criterion. For instance, Radiation Invasion is about the invisible radiation and signals all around us that make telecommunication possible. The Synesthesia collection has a neurological phenomenon as its point of departure, where a mingling of sensory perceptions occurs. There are people who can ‘see’ music, for example or can ‘taste’ colours.

What a delightful, classy and elegant F/W 2024 collection again from fashion designer Ralph Lauren! Be Inspired ....... Earlier I wrote more blogs about Fashion, SEE HERE

“The woman I design for has a beauty that comes from an inner confidence. She dresses for herself. Her style is personal and bold. She believes in quiet sophistication not defined by time or trends. My Fall/Holiday Collection is inspired by that woman - her sense of timelessness, her individuality - a style that is forever.”

— Ralph Lauren

“To me luxury is about quality and attention to detail. Craftsmanship is part of that. Whether in the handmade beauty of a beaded gown, the cut of a soft leather jacket or the curve of the steering wheel of a vintage racing car. Timelessness - things that last - is the truest form of
luxury.”
